Word has it that it's going to open back up in October. There was a bit of a set back when they poured concrete over the steps but then it dried brown (it's supposed to be pristine white). So they tried to strip off the concrete and it ruined the original concrete underneath. So now they have to completely redo the stairs. I've vowed that I'm going in there before I leave this rock.
