BBQ fun

Ry's captain hosted a bbq at his place for all platoon sgts, 1st sgt, and Lt's. He provided the most tasty bbq ribs while everyone else chipped in with side dishes, desserts, and drinks.
Evelyn enjoyed the company of Lt. Hodgson at their own little table.
Ahhh, my kids have been introduced to band hero/guitar hero or whatever it's called. There was the guitar, the microphone, and the drum set. Julia totally rocked the mic singing along to "You Belong with Me" by Taylor Swift.
Marcus had a blast on the drum set. Poor Hodgson couldn't take anymore of the girly band songs.

Marcus even gave it a go on the mic.

He looks like a natural, huh?

Birthday Party at the Waterpark

My kiddos have become tree climbers.

Jacob's new do--can you tell that his Dad did it? I can't wait for it to grow back out.

I'm loving this water park. It's in the next neighborhood over. I'm thinking that we may need to go there for Evelyn's bday.

Chocolate covered strawberries

We're in the mood for some dessert tonight and these huge strawberries were just calling our names....(psst! Mom and Papa, we're slicing that pineapple in the background as soon as you get here).

What big helpers I had!

These are going to be sooooo yummy!

Octopus and Jelly Fish

Evelyn had lots of fun making these in her class last week. So cute!

The Black Pearl

It's currently dry docked by the bay down by Ko'Olina (by the 4th lagoon). Filming for the 4th Pirates of the Carribean begins this summer (half will be done here, the other half in London).

Best Buds

Julia with her absolute best friend, Hailey. Hailey leaves to visit her grandparents when summer vacation begins (this week). She's going to be gone an entire month and Julia is wondering:
"How am I gonna survive that month?!"

And I'm wondering "How are we gonna survive that month?!"

Big boys

Gotta teach 'em young, eh?

Battalion Luau at the Hale Koa Hotel

We had our Battalion Luau last night (mind you, this was REQUIRED attendance--oh the things we're forced to do in the army!!!! ;)). Ry and I had never been to this particular luau and hadn't seen the show either (very nice, but NOTHING on the Polynesian Cultural Center). Here's some pix from the show...

This guy was nuts--I still have no idea how they spread fire with their hands, put the fire in their mouths--or on their feet!

For part of the last dance, they grabbed some of us out of the crowd to hula on stage. Someone at our table made sure the CO's wife got chosen. She did a pretty good job (apparently in her ward, there are lots of members who work at the PCC and have taught lots of the sisters in Relief Society how to do some of the hula dances).

Ry, 1 Sgt, and CO being...well, being themselves. ;)
Two ladies in the company who I like to hang out with.

Ok, here we are at our table. Like any luau, this was a buffet. It was OUTSTANDING!!!! Tons and tons of different dishes that were all sooooooo yummy! And I had never seen so many desserts on one table either. Ryan was in heaven with the crab legs and prime rib. I had some yummy fish with a creamy sauce and some DELICIOUS chocolate mousse with chocolate chips and sauce. Very rich. Ry also managed to get his hands on a pina coloda for me. Yum! Even better than all that, we were sitting with our closest friends in the company. Good food, good company, babysitter for the kids....what more could we ask for?
