I finally received what I call a "real" letter from Ryan. Meaning, it was more than 1 page and it went beyond "hi, i love you, bye". It was more like, 5 pages with descriptions of life for him and what his platoon and drill sergeants are like. :) Guess which one I love the best? ;)
He's doing well. His platoon is one of 4 right now and his drill sergeants informed them first day that his company will do 3x the amount of the other 3 platoons combined. :O! He did between 300-500 push ups during the first HALF day there. Ouch. Since then, he says that it has only gotten tougher--but he's grateful cause it will help in the long run with Officer Candidacy School. On a positive note, they had a PT test already and he was one of the very few that passed! :) He's also getting used to the 2 minute meals and 1 minute showers (!!!!).
Overall, it sounds like he's doing well and getting into the swing of things. He's been given a few nicknames already: The Professor and Mr. Brady are probably the kinder of all of them (he didn't mention the other ones). He's not sure about why he's named the professor (glasses and being "an old man"?). Mr. Brady cause he has "so many kids". LOL.
In his letter, he has made one request: letters.
"Tell me all about everything and everyone. I miss my whole family (Mom, Dad, Meg, Tiff, Randy, Rob...everyone!) Please give as much detail about everyone as possible. Every day stories would be great to hear and motivate me. Please encourage people to write. I need some connection with the outside world. DON'T SEND ANY FOOD!!!!!!!"
Ok people, he needs our support and here's a way to give it! Letters would be greatly appreciated. If you have lost his address or need it, either give me a call or email me!. Thanks everyone!
