Marcus got into preschool over at Helamano, however, the school is under construction at the moment. So in the meantime, it will be a traveling school (going to the different community centers around post). For now, he meets with this class once a week for 2 hours. Once the building is up and running, it'll be Mon-Fri from 8-12.
So here we are, walking his siblings to school while he's quite ready for his own school. Doesn't he look adorable?
He was so excited. Big smiles all the way to his siblings school and back again....til he biffed it trying to climb over some tree roots and covered himself in mud. After quickly running home, scrubbing his shorts, stripping the shirt off to replace it, and washing his scrapes, we were good to go.
Wardrobe take 2. While waiting for the other kids to arrive, the children read books about school. Marcus and I read about Little Spider Goes to School. He thought it was great. Then we read about a little monkey who was wanting a hug. Marcus was so concerned about the little monkey til he found his mom. :) After singing a hello song and doing some introductions, the Marcus's class got together with a "buddy" and walked to the playground for playtime.

What a little monkey.
He LOVED this "net"! Could harldy get him to play with anything else.
After playtime, it was onto bathroom breaks, the drinking fountain, and measurements (see how tall they are and how much they weigh).
Then it was circle time. There they sang songs with hand movements. I was pleasantly surprised when Marcus actually mimicked his teachers. They also sang songs about their names. Afterwards, it was time for blocks.
Great hand/eye coordination! The kids were also able to make name tags and decorate them with stickers. Marcus had so much fun on his first day of school. He paid attention to the teachers, got along with the other kids (whew!), and actually participated (now why can't he do that in Sunbeams?!). He even did an awesome job moving from one activity to the next. I'm so proud of him!
