Julia's Birthday

I can hardly believe that my little girl is now a whopping 10 years old! My mom flew in that day and Julia wanted to wait to open her presents til Nana came home from the airport. We had one hour til kill after school til it was time to head to the airport and so a couple of the kids's friends came over to hang out. We ended up inviting them over for birthday pie (Julia doesn't like cake or frosting AT ALL). Word got out to one of her other friends in the neighborhood that Julia was having a "birthday party" and the next thing I know I'm getting calls from parents about the party. ??? Oh well. I kindly explained that it was just pie and opening of gifts. Three of Julia's friends came over to help celebrate her special day.

Here's Julia with one of her good friends, Bethany. We are so blessed to have her and her family living just down the street from us.

Hailey and Julia are literally joined at the hip. Her house is practically in our backyard.

Julia's really into Littlest Pet Shop toys and this was soooooooo cool! Thanks Braelynn!

Hailey, Julia, Bethany, and Braelynn. Not quite sure what on earth they're doing with their fingers, but that's girls for you!
Trick candles...heheheheh. I've never used them before and Julia had no idea what was going on. Had to have help from her friends.

She ended up having such a special day. Nana coming in, her FAVORITE pie (Ande's mint chocolate--yum!), the books she's been begging for (a million thanks to Mema and Papa--she stayed up all night and read Diary of a Wimpy Kid Dog Days--the whole thing! Perhaps I'm setting a bad example with my own reading habits...), a green princess thingy to put over her bed (like Evelyn's pink one), and friends and family. :)
