Mother's Day flowers

Really, the pictures don't do this bouquet any justice. It's the most beautiful bouquet Ry's ever given me. I love it!

Finally some sun!

I can't believe the amount of rain we've been getting! Poor Sarah is here for some fun in the sun...and we've pretty much had rain almost nonstop. The sun finally poked through after school so we promptly packed everyone up and hit up the beach.

Practicing floating on their backs. Marcus definitely had it down. ;) Evelyn did a really good job, too!

Tropic Lightning Museum

I've wanted to visit this place ever since we've moved here. It's only about a mile from our house, not very far. Jacob's class even had a walking field trip here earlier this year. Ry wasn't sure about bringing Marcus there so we never did make the trip....til today. :) The weather finally let up a bit (thank you, Sarah, for bringing the downpouring rain all the way from DC) so we walked there. It was actually closed when we first arrived...didn't open for another hour. So we walked back to the PX to hang out for a while. Found Marcus some tennis shoes (he's going to have his daddy's feet, I swear) and then headed back. I'm so glad we did. They have some amazing facts, letters, artifacts, and just so much history in there.

Marcus particularly loved all the military vehicles which are show cased here in the front.

All that walking back and forth we did today in the slight rain, clouds, and bit of sunshine--great exercise outdoors....and awesome opportunity for groovy sunburns (which we didn't notice our red spots til much later in the afternoon). Oops! Oh well, nothing a few trips to the beach can't fix, right?

And Marcus did an awesome job in there. :D What a good boy!

Mini Soccer

I got Marcus signed up for mini soccer this spring. It's for 3-4 year olds and it's also a parent participation (they do the practice with their child...hands on).

Can you tell that he's just a tad bit excited? He's been asking for weeks if I've signed him up.

Of course the only size shirt they have the kiddos is the super "hi, it looks more like a dress" size. ;) He loved it all the same.

There, oversized shirt problem fixed! Now, let's practice those toe touches...

Yep, he got the toe touches down! Lots of fun. :)

In line to go and score a goal.

Goooooooooooooo All Stars!!!!!

It takes about 3 min to drive back home....and it took less than 3 min of driving for him to pass out. He had so much fun at practice with all the running, jumping, dribbling, ect. We love it!

Easter

The kids lined up and waited patiently as I "hid" the eggs in the living room.

Julia wanted to see just how close in heighth we are.....but alas, even this picture isn't quite right. She's actually wearing a pair of my high heeled shoes (like, the ones that are 5in). But I'm betting that by the end of 6th grade, she and I will be seeing eye to eye.
And the egg hunt begins!

They were each allotted 10 eggs. Jacob's helping Marcus count to make sure he has all of his.

Can you name that movie that is paused on our screen?

Let's get crackin'!

Yummy! They loved getting all the Starbursts.

But this year, there was more than just candy in the eggs. What's on those little strips of paper?

"I know! It's the Third Article of Faith!" Jacob's so smart. I wanted the kids to not just be excited about the eggs and candy. I wanted them to remember about the real meaning of Easter--the Atonement. So, in almost each egg was a single word. The kids had to unscramble the words and figure out what the sentence is.

They taped the word strips together and we read it out loud. They had as much fun putting that together as they did with opening the eggs. Success. :)

Helping Hands at Haleiwa Ali'i Beach Park
