Elbow licking

I guess during their last skype conversation, Ry challenged Julia to lick her elbow. She took it to heart and got her siblings trying to do it, too. I made a mad dash for the camera when they all started trying to do it after dinner tonight.

Never a dull moment! We had lots of good laughs this evening.

Graduation

Fifth grade graduation is coming up next month. Doesn't she look WONDERFUL? I'm so proud of her!

Shoo Fly, Don't Bother Me!

You know, living where I do, I've learned to live with some bugs. It's inevitable here. Small daddy long legs (they stay in their corners and eat the ants and I'll leave them alone...we have a deal). Geckos. And an array of other small strange bugs which I'd never seen before moving here. But THIS THING is D-I-S-G-U-S-T-I-N-G!

Apparently it's decided that it likes our house. I've found it on our front door, back door, and just last weekend it flew into our garage (and then into our house when we opened the garage door--if you heard screaming, it was coming from the kids and myself!). Well, except for Julia, she guided it out of the house with a broom. It's even lodged itself in my grill! GROSS! Easy way to lose one's appetite--opening the top of the grill and finding that thing inside!

Well, I've drawn the line. I don't do creepy over sized moths. Here come the fly swatters!

More Rays of Sunshine

I hadn't ever seen them like this before--where there are multiple ones coming from everywhere. It was breathtaking.

It's that time again....

Pinewood Derby time! When I asked Jacob how he wanted to paint his car, he thoughtfully asked, "Silver and black? Or Orange and black?". That sounded just fine to me. We headed over to Walmart to pick up the acrylic paint...and there wasn't any silver. So he snatched the black and orange...til he thought about the Denver Broncos. "I want to paint the Broncos on it, Mom!". Black was put back while white and blue were picked up. :D Julia drew the Bronco on it for him and he painted. Nice job!

Kitty Tower

A friend of mine (obviously, she used to have a cat) gave this to us earlier this week since she no longer uses it. Last night, Julia and I tackled the instructions and put it together. Skittles LOVES it!

Say what?

"Mom! I burped! Like, a manly one! That's my 23rd one this year!"


This came out of Julia while we were out with some friends this evening. :D

Sushi

Typically, this is a Ryan thing. I'd never even eaten the stuff before marrying him. And even now, I'm kinda picky when it comes to raw fish (just can't do it!). Our girls are another matter! They LOVE poke, salmon, tuna, ect. Evelyn asked for some sushi while we were out grocery shopping. She pointed out that there was enough packages of California rolls for her, Julia, and me. LOL (the boys don't care for them--they had sandwiches).
