Us vs Pizza

One our favorite shows to watch is Man vs Food. On one episode, Adam is teamed up with a partner and they try to take on the 30in meatlovers pizza. The thing is HUGE and weighs in at 11 lbs!!! So, in this little town that we live in, we found a pizza joint that actually sells a 30in. We decided to try it out when Ry's parents and lots of cousins joined us for Jacob's birthday. Check this thing out!

Ok, here's Evelyn showing off just how big the thing is. Ryan and Dad couldn't just breeze through the front door with it. It wouldn't fit--they had to tilt it to make it through. The thing was humongous!

Between 14 of us, we were able to finish it all. Not only was it the biggest pizza I'd ever laid eye on, but it was darn good too. The crust tasted just like the bread sticks served at the Olive Garden--buttery and garlicky. Oh yum!

Um, Happy New Year

So obviously blogging was not on my New Year's resolutions list. :) I thought that I'd better start putting some of the pix that I've taken over the past few months on here so that I'm not just hording them to myself (plus I'd love for friends and family to see what we're up to). I'm starting out with an afternoon at the park. Being the lovely state which we live in and how the weather is so erratic and never seems to make up it's mind--we took advantage of a random warm day.

Marcus LOVED the opportunity to just run through the grass outside.

This board that the kids are standing on has springs underneath. They really have to work on balancing in order not to fall off.

Of course, the temperature dropped 20 degrees the next day...but we lots of fun while it was warm! And to top it off, this park is less than 1/2 a mile from our house--perfect for walking.

Cousin time

Ryan surprised us by taking us to Springfield to visit Mom and Dad for a bit before we were to head to SDC for the final time. Well, it turned out to be waaaaaay too cold to be outside and we were having so much fun hanging out with cousins so we ended staying in town. While we were there, Joycelyn arrived with Katie and Connor.

Mom and Dad were getting their hair cut when we initially arrived. I got right in line and had mine done too. And then the line really started forming...Joycelyn, Katie, Julia....Katie had her long locks trimmed off--she looks BEAUTIFUL!!!! Julia loved how Katie's hair looked and therefore wanted the same thing. Here's the girls sporting their new dos. Thank you Crystal!!!!

Evelyn is finally big enough to wear this sweater/skirt combo--the skirt (though you can't see it) is plaid and is bonified Christmas.

Holy cow, this girl is pretty!

Jacob sporting his dad's favorite colors (besides blue and orange). He was soooo excited to realize that he finally fits into this sweater (and just in time too!).

Marcus has found a new favorite past time--sitting on someone's lap and playing on the computer. Mema is checking out blogs here and then switched and was showing him the San Diego Zoo. He loved seeing all the animals. Oh, and the green circle? That's a balloon that was floating down at the moment...

Birthday party with cousins, Mema, and Papa

Mom and Papa brought some cousins up here to celebrate Julia's birthday (a HUGE thank you!!!!!). All the cousins simply couldn't get enough of each other and the energy buzzing in the house was incredible. Man, we miss everyone! Jacob was flying on cloud nine to be playing with Ben again. We knew there was a good chance of him coming today--Hannah was a complete, and most welcome, surprise. :)

Julia wanted to play the classic game of pin the tail on the donkey. The kids all lined up and took their turns being blindfolded, spun around til almost dizzy, and trying to pin their tail in the right spot. (no pix of them actually doing it since my hands were busy spinning them). :)

Julia is NOT a fan of cake. Or perhaps frosting is the real culprit. Well, whichever it is, she doesn't like having a real cake for her birthday (she wouldn't even bring cupcakes for her class--she brought cookies). So the past few years I've been making her my (and hers) all time favorite oreo ice cream cake....yumm-o!

To the Grandon's--the absolute perfect gift! I think she's actually SLEEPING with that book tonight.....

Julia and her stuffed animals--there's no such thing as too many. I think she regards them as I do my books--each one is unique and special and there's no such thing as getting tired or bored with them.

Mema found this absolutely gorgeous Sunday outfit for Julia. She adores it "Now I'll look just like Mommy!". Mema, thank you soooooo much!

Thanks again to Mom and Papa for going out of your way to celebrate Julia's special day. We had so much fun and more than anything, we love having you in our home. Miss you...
